Plans for Eddie Alvarez-Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 205 this November have been scrapped, according to a report on “UFC Tonight” Wednesday evening.
Instead, the UFC lightweight title fight is in the works for December and UFC 206. That card takes place in Toronto.
Alvarez would be making his first title defense after winning the belt with a first round finish of Rafael dos Anjos. He was working on a potential fight with featherweight champion Conor McGregor for UFC 205 in New York.
Nurmagomedov has battled injuries to remain a top contender, sporting an unbeaten MMA record.
