Multiple reports are indicating that Chris Weidman has suffered an injury and will not be able to face Luke Rockhold for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 199.
The card is scheduled for June 4 from The Forum in Los Angeles.
Weidman (13-1) suffered his first career loss at the hands of Rockhold (15-2) last year. An immediate rematch was signed between the two based largely on Weidman’s run of wins that included two straight over Anderson Silva and title defenses vs. Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort.
Currently, the card also includes a bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.
If the UFC is able to keep Rockhold on the card, likely replacements for Weidman would be Michael Bisping, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza or Derek Brunson.
