Renzo Gracie getting one final chance inside the Octagon has possibly taken a step towards reality. He recently spoke to UFC president Dana White and thinks a deal might be set.
“I offered to fight for free and he laughed,” said Gracie on The MMA Hour. “It’s not money I need and he said, ‘I know.’ I want to do something without the need to do that. I think that way a man fights better.”
In his only UFC appearance, Gracie was stopped by Matt Hughes. He hasn’t fought since that April 2010 loss and is 13-7-1-1 NC.
If the UFC gives Gracie the nod to return, he wants it at lightweight. One of Gracie’s biggest gripes was always fighting guys that were much larger.
