Renzo Gracie has Chris Weidman remaining the UFC middleweight champion, taking a submission in the rematch with Anderson Silva.
“He will submit him,” said Gracie on The MMA Hour. “I do believe he’s going to submit him. He’s getting better every day. If Anderson doesn’t improve his ground game, he will be in trouble this time. If Anderson is not that careful, [Weidman] is going to take Anderson down and submit him.”
One of Weidman’s coaches in New York City is Gracie.
The first encounter saw Weidman take a second round knockout. It was the first UFC loss for Silva and the only time he’s been knocked out.
UFC 168 is December 28 and comes from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
