Barao outclassed Faber the first time the two tussled and “The California Kid” has a huge test in front of him already, facing Michael McDonald this December on FOX. Still, Faber’s star-power can’t be denied, and chances are he’ll find himself in another title-shot if he gets by McDonald. The win would be his fourth straight, adding to victories over other seasoned opponents like Scott Jorgensen, Ivan Menjivar, and Iuri Alcantara.
There aren’t many fighters in the history of Mixed Martial Arts who can lay claim to the type of winning streak UFC interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao is currently on. The 26-year old Brazilian has strung together 31 consecutive triumphs since losing in his debut two months removed from his eighteenth birthday including six victories in the Octagon. Barao’s latest instance of success came on Saturday night at UFC 165 when he finished Eddie Wineland in impressive fashion. Now it’s time to take a look at a few other folks Barao could end up facing at some point in the coming years. (Photos by USA Today Sports Images)
