Renan Barao successfully defended his interim UFC bantamweight title once again Saturday, stopping Eddie Wineland in the second round of UFC 165.
With the win, Barao pushed his win streak to 21 straight, and UFC president Dana White wants to make sure people understand how great he is.
“This guy doesn’t get enough credit for the record he has,” White said. “Over eight years, 21 fights in a row. That is impressive in this sport.”
Overall, Barao hasn’t lost since his debut, spanning 32 fights with one no-contest.
The Floyd Mayweather-Jon Jones comparison was brought up to White during the post-fight press conference, and with Jones not in attendance, White brought up Barao.
“When he fights you, he doesn’t go to a decision,” White added. “He destroys you.”
