Reebok responded to the stream of criticism directed towards the apparel giant in the wake of the news that the UFC has parted ways with veteran cutman Jacob “Stitch” Duran.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Reebok and the MMA promotion had come to terms on an exclusive deal for fight-night and fight-week clothing and merchandise. Many UFC fighters have voiced their opinions in favor, while some have been against.
Regardless, Reebok’s Twitter account let it be known that they have no control over the direction the UFC takes with staff and fighters:
UFC fans: We have no input on decisions of UFC employment or fighter compensation. Our focus is providing the best gear for fighters & fans.
