Before anybody tries to push for a match between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Tyrone Spong, one important figure is already saying no.
World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo took to Twitter late Friday night to shoot down any rumors of the contest taking place.
Jackson was scheduled to face Tito Ortiz on the first Bellator pay-per-view next month, but Ortiz was forced out with a neck injury. Jackson was completely removed from the card.
Talk of Spong stepping in quickly started up, but Sefo silenced that talk. Spong is currently signed with the WSOF.
“Sorry but that won’t happen,” he posted on Twitter in regards to the bout taking place.
For what it’s worth, Spong posted on his own Twitter account “Let’s go man trend this (expletive) and make it happen!!” to fighting Jackson, a former UFC light heavyweight champion.
