Rafael dos Anjos is a former UFC champion.
Dos Anjos knows what it takes to reach the top of the mountain, and he believes he’ll get back there after he defeats Tony Ferguson at UFC Fight Night 98 Saturday night.
“I need to be me,” he said. “I need to use my skills, be aggressive and patient. I have a lot of confidence I’ll get this victory.”
Dos Anjos, who left Kings MMA leading into this fight, lost the belt to Eddie Alvarez in July. He had defended it successfully vs. Donald Cerrone and was signed for a champion vs. champion match with Conor McGregor before getting hurt.
RDA also believes Ferguson, who has won eight in a row, is “too confident” entering the fight.
“You can see the way he talks. He’s got eight wins straight, but he’s never faced anyone like me,” he said. “I’m in the best shape of my life. It’s been a tough year for me, but I’m going to end this year with a victory.”
