UFC 185 main event fighters Rafael dos Anjos and Anthony Pettis both left Dallas with serious injuries.
Dos Anjos, who won the lightweight title with a convincing decision victory over Pettis, had mentioned after the fight that he suffered a torn MCL in practice. On Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight,” it was confirmed that the knee injury was a partial tear, but surgery will not be required.
However, dos Anjos will need surgery to repair damage done to his nose and will likely be out until later in 2015.
As for Pettis, he broke his orbital bone and will be out for six weeks while it heals.
