Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s Bellator debut was put on hold when Tito Ortiz suffered a neck injury. Since Jackson already had a full training camp, he wanted to fight and the promotion got him Joey Beltran.
Beltran has prohibited his family from attending the event, stating the fight could get ugly.
“I already told my wife she’s not coming to this fight,” said Beltran on The MMA Hour. “I talked to my family and I said, ‘Listen, it could get pretty ugly.’ I’m going out there to do a job and my job is to entertain for Bellator fighting championships in this fight.”
The two recently met over the weekend and Beltran said Jackson was polite and wanted to put on an entertaining fight for the fans.
Beltran was sent packing by the UFC last month after a three year run. Jackson decided not to resign his UFC contract and has lost in his last three appearances.
They will meet in a 210 catchweight contest at Bellator 108. It’s November 15 from Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
