John Lineker and Ian McCall could be competing to become the No. 1 contender in the flyweight division this November at UFC Fight Night 56.
Officials added the contest to the November 8 card recetly. No exact venue has been determined, and the only other bout made official is between Ovince St. Preux and Rafael Cavalcante.
Lineker (24-7) has overcome issues with cutting down to 125 pounds to post a 5-2 record inside the Octagon. That includes a a recent third-round TKO victory over Alptekin Ozkilic.
Overall, Lineker is 5-1 in his last six, losing only to former No. 1 contender Ali Bagautinov this past February via decision.
McCall (13-4-1) was one of four fighters entered into the first-ever UFC flyweight tournament to crown a champion. After originally being declared the winner over current titleholder Demetrious Johnson, their bout was ruled a draw and a rematch was set.
Johnson won that fight and went on to win the title. Meanwhile, “Uncle Creepy” has rebounded from a loss to Joseph Benavidez to defeat both Iliarde Santos and Brad Pickett via decision.
Below is the current lineup for the night:
Light Heavyweight: Ovince St. Preux vs. Rafael Cavalcante
Flyweight: John Lineker vs. Ian McCall
