UFC Fight Night 28 didn’t start so swell for Piotr Hallmann. One round in and Hallmann was already looking to survive the fight as Francisco Trinaldo was throwing shots. Hallmann secured a kimura in the second round to take the win in his UFC debut.
“I didn’t expect submissions,” said Hallmann to MMA Fighting. “I expected to win by points or stoppage, but not a submission at all. But I train every aspect of the game.”
At 14-1, Hallmann is familiar with ending fights. Only once were the judges needed for the Polish lightweight.
Trinaldo has been busy for the UFC this year with three fights. His two submission wins from earlier in the year were met with the defeat from Hallmann.
UFC Fight Night 28 was September 4 from Brazil’s Mineirinho Arena.
