Pat Healy caused a bit of discussion when his UFC 159 drug test came back positive for marijuana. Not only was his win against Jim Miller overturned to a no contest, but the UFC took back their Submission of the Night and Fight of the Night bonus checks.
“I think the performance still stands at least in my mind,” said Healy on Sherdog Radio. “To me it still feels like I have a ton of momentum and I’m still on a great winning streak.”
He took a 90 day suspension as a result.
It was Healy’s UFC debut after taking six consecutive wins for Strikeforce. Healy used a rear naked choke for the original submission win in the closing minute of the fight. He takes on Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 165 on September 21.
Miller went 2-1 last year, taking Fight of the Year with Joe Lauzon to close 2012. There’s no return information about Miller.
