Melvin Yeoh has the chance to become the first Malaysian national champion when he takes on A.J. Mansour at ONE FC 12 and he’ still weighing where to take the fight. They will be the finals of the Malaysian featherweight tournament.
“I like to stand and be aggressive but I want to test my wrestling abilities with a big guy like A.J. too,” said Yeoh to MMA Mania. “It’s a good opportunity to test myself against a bigger and stronger guy.”
The 32-year-old Yeoh is 7-1 with all but his debut being stoppages. He used a triangle choke against Raymond Tiew to land in the finals.
Mansour is a replacement for Jian Kai Chee, who decided to leave the tournament due to weight cutting. Currently, Mansour has lost three in a row and stands at 1-3.
ONE FC 12 is November 15 from the Putra Indoor Stadium in Malaysia.
