As ONE FC expands, so does WMMA. The quickly growing Asian promotion knows this and has introduced females to their roster with Sherilyn Lim taking on Ann Osman this October. Lim joined the sport originally as a method to drop weight and now finds herself looking to make it a career.
“Initially, it was just a weight loss thing,” said Lim to MMA Junkie. “I wanted to lose weight. It was also that, it’s a martial art. In the event that I might need to use it for self-defense, I have that option. If I could lose weight and learn something useful, why not?”
Other sports didn’t help Lim shed the pounds but when she entered the Singapore Polytechnic, everything changed. It was there that Lim discovered her passion for Muay Thai kickboxing
Lim vs. Osman goes down at ONE FC 11 in what will be both their professional debuts. It’s October 18 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium and can be seen in the United States via online purchase.
