Olympic Wrestler Jordan Burroughs Says He Will “Never Step Foot In Octagon”

Reigning U.S. Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs remains on the amateur wrestling scene.

Burroughs, who hasn’t lost in years, seemed to be on course for a future in MMA like several other elite wrestlers.

Instead, the ex-Nebraska NCAA national put any thought of that to rest on Twitter after watching Bellator 106 Saturday night.

“MMA is brutal,” he wrote. “Great sport, but not for me. I will never step foot in the Octagon.”

The 25-year-old is a two-time World Champion and one-time Pan American champion. Burroughs is 65-0 on the senior wrestling circuit.
