Those who smoke marijuana and want to be an MMA fighter can breathe a little easier. The NSAC has decided to triple the limit for marijuana metabolites. NSAC commissioner Keith Kizer confirmed that the previous 50 mL has been increased to 150 mL.
Middle Easy was sent an e-mail from Kizer about the change. The list of fighters testing positive for the substance has grown in recent years and caused the commission to reevaluate their stance. Kizer expects the rule to go into effect this month.
The change comes just after the federal government stated they wouldn’t intervene in Washington or Colorado, two states that have legalized marijuana for recreational sale.
Nick Diaz will probably enjoy the news, since he failed two test for marijuana in his MMA career.
