UFC President Dana White spent much of his time leading up to UFC 108 defending the card’s appeal. Now that the event has passed, and delivered in a big way, White is spending his time doing something he is much more comfortable doing, saying ‘I told you so.’ White recently spoke with Sherdog.com about the card and even mentioned a possibility of revisiting the idea of bringing Fedor to the UFC.
When asked how he felt about the way the fighters on this much-maligned card performed, White noted that “they always deliver. The way that I look at fighters is they’re my partners. I put on all the bells and whistles before the fight and they show up and do what they do. It’s a perfect relationship.”
White later spoke to what fight impressed him the most. “I was so fired up for the Yvel and Dos Santos fight that my stomach hurt. And to be honest with you, I was happy with every fight on the card tonight.”
The UFC Prez added these sentiments in defense of UFC cards that may not seem as stacked as others.
“Like I said leading up to this event, when do these guys not deliver? The thing I’ve always said about boxing, is when you hype up one fight as the main event and the under card is so bad that nobody shows up, and the main event doesn’t deliver, you leave that night going, man I got screwed tonight.
"When you buy a UFC event I guarantee you there will be more than one holy sh*t moment. And there were some holy sh*t moments tonight.”
And in somewhat of a surprise, White addressed the possibility of once again trying to brink Fedor to the UFC, along with his M-1 Global buddy Gegard Mousasi.
“I think there is a million different ways to cut deals. Believe me, I want Fedor more than anyone else. I like Mousasi too. I’d like to have them both in the UFC.”
