Round 3: Vera picked his shots again, landing jabs and leg kicks. Vera attempted a kimura, but Soszynski was able to get out of it. Vera took Soszynski to the ground and was able to deliver some punishing shots before Soszynski got back to his feet. Vera landed a knee which was a little low, prompting the referee to pause the action for a few seconds. Vera landed a good combination and more kicks to end the round. FightLine.com scores it 10-9 for Vera.

Winner via unanimous decision (all score it 30-27): Brandon Vera

After the fight, Vera said he wished he could have knocked Soszynski out, but Soszynski's a tough guy. He noted that he's going back to the gym on Monday and will be ready whenever Joe Silva calls him.

Rashad Evans was shown at cageside, who got his usual chorus of boos from the crowd.

Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia

Round 1: Maia was going in for a leg kick and Marquardt landed a big right to knockout Maia in just 0:21 of the first round.

Winner via KO at 0:21 of Round 1: Nate Marquardt

After the fight, Marquardt thanked the fans and said that if you want someone in there who can kick Anderson Silva's butt, then to give him the next shot. Anderson Silva was shown in the audience, and got a big reaction from the crowd.

Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt

Round 1: Rosholt and Leben traded leg kicks early on. A big "Leben" chant broke out. Not much action in the opening minutes until Rosholt took Leben down late in the round. He landed some good shots before getting back to the center of the cage. Leben swung wildly in the final seconds of the round, but didn't connect with anything substantial. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Leben.

Round 2: Leben connected with a big left hand that rocked Rosholt early in the round and took Rosholt to the ground. Leben wasn't able to do much on the ground, and they were stood up. Leben went for a head kick and landed a big left. Rosholt was able to get a takedown and attempted a arm-in guillotine. Rosholt stood up and allowed Leben to get back to his feet. Leben tried throwing some big punches, which were partially blocked, to end the round. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Leben, although it's a close one.

Round 3: Rosholt took Leben down early and trapped Leben's arm and dropped elbows onto Leben. Rosholt tried to take Leben's back and was able to secure a choke. Leben looked like he tried to tap, but the referee couldn't tell. A couple of seconds later, Leben was out and the referee stopped the fight.
