Winner via KO at 3:23 of Round 1: Anderson Silva
After the fight, Anderson Silva said Forrest was a good guy and thanked his camp. He did part of his interview without needing Ed Soares to translate for him. Silva said he's ready to fight the best, no matter the weight class.
UFC Lightweight Championship BJ Penn (c) vs. Kenny Florian
Round 1: Penn caught Florian early with a right that knocked Florian down, but Florian got quickly back to his feet. The crowd is chanting "BJ". Penn stayed aggressive. Penn then clipped Florian with a big right and followed it up with a knee to finish the round strong. FightLine.com scores it 10-9 for Penn.
Round 2: Florian tried for a takedown early, but was stuffed. Florian kept going for a takedown, making BJ work. Florian's strategy seems to be to tire Penn out with his takedown attempts. BJ landed an uppercut and a left hook, but Florian recovered. BJ kept following Florian as the round cam to an end. Another 10-9 round for Penn.
Round 3: More of the same to start the round, with Florian pressing BJ up against the cage. BJ landed another uppercut. Crowd is getting a little impatient. Penn landed a flurry towards the end of the round, but Florian was able to regain his composure. Closer round, but Pen did more damage. 10-9 for Penn.
Round 4: Florian tried attacking early, but got caught. Penn hit a big uppercut and then secured a big takedown. Penn passed Florian's guard and hit him with some big shots. Penn was able to mount, and tried to position himself for a choke. He was able to get the choke in and Florian tapped.
Winner via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:54 of Round 4, and still UFC Lightweight Champion: BJ Penn
