UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar Suffering From Diverticulitis
By Tim Ngo | December 19, 2009
The mystery “intestinal” illness that has UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s career in jeopardy has been revealed. Lesnar is suffering from a disease called “diverticulitis.” According to “Internet doctors” there is no known cause for the disease, but that possibly a low-fiber diet may play a role in its appearance. For mild cases of diverticulitis, rest and antibiotics seems to be the cure. In extreme cases (like Lesnar’s), surgery may be required.
Lesnar is awaiting his doctor’s opinion as to whether or not his case is severe enough to warrant urgery to remove the area of his colon that has been infected.
There is no information that we could find online that explains how the healing or recovery process looks like or the time frame that is involved.
“This guy [Brock Lesnar] wants to live a normal, quality life. He’s not even thinking about fighting right now,” UFC president Dana White recent told the Boston Herald about Lesnar’s current state of mind.
