Although former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has not officially signed with Strikeforce, talk is spreading about the possibility of the Belarusian facing Fabricio Werdum in February or March of next year. Werdum recently spoke with Tatame.com and stated he may be fighting Arlovski in 2010, and is looking for a shot at redemption after losing to “The Pitbull” at UFC 70 in April 2007.
“I must fight in February or March, and I imagine that it could be against (Andrei) Arlovski”, Werdum said. “I lost to him by 2×1, it was an ugly fight.”
Werdum stated that he is also hoping to face Fedor Emelianenko in the cage, but thinks that Arlovski is likely his next opponent.
