Anderson Silva Aiming To Return In April
By Tim Ngo | December 11, 2009
UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva is still recovering from elbow surgery that removed bone chips from his right elbow in October. Dana White says that things are looking better for Silva and that he should be back in time for an April event.Originally scheduled to defend his title against Vitor Belfort at UFC 108 in January, the bout was scratched and then moved back to February’s UFC 109 because Silva wouldn’t be ready in time.
Then, it was learned that Silva’s elbow wasn’t healing quick enough to make the February date, and now it seems like April is the target for his return.
One of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, Silva returned to form at UFC 101 in August where he embarrassed former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin with a shocking first round knockout.
