By Tim Ngo | November 24, 2009
Their controversial unanimous decision at UFC 104 has been beaten like a dead horse at this point, and it appears that the UFC has officially done something about it as light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida just Tweeted that he will be giving his Brazilian counterpart a mulligan on May 1st.“The fight against Shogun is confirmed to May 1st!,” Machida Tweeted early Monday morning.
Machida recently had surgery on his left hand, an injury he suffered while training for his UFC 104 bout with Rua.
It was rumored the organization was hoping to place Machida vs. Rua II on their New Year’s show, UFC 108 on January 2nd, but Machida’s surgery pushed the bout back four months.
