“Triumph” is the name of this year’s closing event for Costa Rican MMA Promotion FiteNite (MMA Entertainment), a new Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing show with the quality and organization that is synonymous with FiteNite.

Throughout the year several events were held to promote this thriving sport in Latin America, and thus new champions were born in four different MMA weight categories, all of them from Costa Rica: Alejandro Solano at the 155 pound category; Alejandro Villalobos at 145 pounds; Ludwing Salazar at 170 pounds and more recently at 135 pounds Julio Brenes. In order to celebrate this year of Costa Rican triumphs a new event is coming up on Tuesday, December 1st at 9:30PM EST at Plaza Ferias Alajuela, Costa Rica.

In “Triumph” 31-year-old Costa Rican Alejandro Solano who holds a record of (11-4) will be stepping into a new weight class as a welter facing 34-year-old American John Kolosci currently holding a record of (11-6). This is definitely a promising fight based solely on the quality of the fighters and a worthy addition for a great and exciting “Triumph” closing event.

Alejandro Villalobos who has a record of (8-2) is another of the main figures in this event scheduled for December 1st.

Other Latin-Americans will also be present in the show, one of them being Chilean Mattias Vasquez, who despite being defeated in his last fight in Costa Rica, without a doubt has great skills in the ring and indisputable charisma.

But the night will not only have male fights, it also includes two great Costa Rican female fight representatives, Reyna Cordoba and Wendy Aranda. This will be the second appearance they both make at a professional level, fighting to prove that Latina girls also have a place in this sport. Cordoba’s opponent will be North American Jessica Aguilar, who while holding a (5-3) record is an adversary with a great deal of experience; this forces Cordoba to prepare both physically and mentally for a very hard fight, but she gets a chance to prove her abilities against a great rival.

In Wendy’s case she will be facing Nina Ansaroff from the United States.

When it comes to boxing, the main dish that night will be the long announced fight between Mexican American Roberto “La Amenaza” (The Threat) Garcia and Costa Rican Jaime Barboza at the 154 pound category; this fight has been postponed twice this year due to different motives, and in the last visit Garcia made to Costa Rica defeating Santiago Icabalzeta, Barboza went into the ring to challenge “La Amenaza.” It is in this manner that the fight will finally happen between these two excellent prizefighters, and now they will have a chance to demonstrate who is better with their fists. This fight will be for a WBO - NABO Interim Title (North American Boxing Organization).
