Paulo Thiago vs. Jaboc Volkmann

Round 1: Thiago landed a nice high kick early. Volkmann clinched Thiago against the cage, but Thiago took him to the ground and into side control. Volkmann made his way back to his feet, and Thiago pressed Volkmann against the cage. Thiago took Volkmann down again and got full mount, but Volkmann was able to scramble out. Thiago landed some short elbows from the top before letting Volkmann up to his feet. Both fighters clinched against the cage, and Volkmann was able to land a nice elbow before they broke free. Thiago landed a nice combination that floored Volkmann right as the buzzer went off, and Volkmann is rocked. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Thiago.

Round 2: Thiago landed some good shots early, caught a kick from Volkmann and knocked him down. Volkmann got back to his feet and took Thiago to the ground. Volkmann landed a few strikes on Thiago as Thiago was trying to get back to his feet. Thiago was able to scramble out and get to his feet. Volkmann pressed Thiago against the cage. Thiago was able to squirm out and went for a leg, but Volkmann was able to take Thiago down and mounted him, but Thiago was able to reverse it and land a big punch. Thiago stayed in Volkmann's guard, but couldn't pass. Thiago landed a big punch from the top as the round came to a close. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Thiago.

Round 3: Thiago tagged Volkmann early and landed a couple of punches from the top, but Thiago couldn't finish Volkmann off. Thiago got side control, and then went for a north-south choke. Volkmann was able to get on top and both men got back to their feet. Volkmann went for a takedown, but Thiago stuffed it. Volkmann was able to take Thiago down and got side control. Volkmann got the crucifix position, and got Thiago's back, but Thiago was able to brush him off. Thiago was able to get side control, but Volkmann was able to get a d'arce choke. Thiago got back on top and landed short elbows on Volkmann as the round ended. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Volkmann.

After the fight, Thiago said he was hoping for a knockout but Volkmann was a really tough fighter.
