A report on MMAJunkie.com states that the UFC middleweight title fight between champion Anderson Silva and top contender Vitor Belfort will now take place at UFC 109 on February 6, 2010. While no bout agreements have been signed, both camps have agreed to the bout verbally.
The fight was originally scheduled for UFC 108 in January, however had to be postponed due to Silva undergoing elbow surgery last month to have bone spurs removed from his right elbow. Although the procedure went well, the rehab required more time than anticipated, forcing the January 2, 2010 title defense to be postponed. The new February 6th date is also contingent on Silva's recovery process.
