Brett Rogers tasted defeat for the first time in his career, as he was TKO'd by Fedor Emelianenko in the second round of their bout tonight at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers. Immediately after the fight, a flustered Rogers admitted to not taking his first loss well.
"I hate it!," he responded, when asked how he was feeling. "I'm coming back stronger. I'm so heated, I can't put it to words."
When Emelianenko was asked after the bout if he would give Rogers a rematch, Fedor noted that he would if Rogers wanted it. Rogers wasted no time in sharing his thoughts on a potential rematch.
"If he wants to rematch me, I would gladly take that rematch," he said.
Rogers felt that his main weakness in the fight was doubting himself.
"What I did see was me doubting myself," Rogers explained. "I should have thrown my hands a lot more. If I would have thrown my hands more, it would have ended a lot different."
With the loss, Rogers falls to 10-1, still an enviable record.
