Dana White: "[Dan Henderson] Was Looking For An Obscene Amount Of Money" With each passing day, it looks as though the odds of seeing Dan Henderson back in the Octagon are getting slimmer and slimmer. UFC president Dana White recently told MMA Fix, “You never know what’s gonna happen, we’ll see what happens in time but as of right now, yeah, negotiations are done.

"I have a great relationship with him but he was looking for an obscene amount of money," White added.

Henderson recently stated he was in talks with other organizations, however always preferred to re-up with the world’s biggest MMA show. Strikeforce appears to have emerged as the front-runner to employ the 39-year old veteran if White decides to let him walk.

“If [Strikeforce] can afford to sign Dan Henderson and I couldn’t, what’s that tell you?” White openly asked about the prospect of Strikeforce stealing away one of his fighters.

Many in the MMA community, including White, are questioning how the San Jose-based organization can afford to pay Fedor Emelianenko’s hefty bill considering they have never hosted a pay-per-view broadcast.

The UFC’s best bargaining chip is they are THE UFC, plus the fact that Hendo has openly campaigned to come back. However, Strikeforce is building a legitimate roster and Henderson might want to test his skills against some of the young bucks over there.
