Anderson Silva's Camp Says They Are Ready For UFC 108 Bout With Vitor Belfort
Anderson Silva's Camp Says They Are Ready For UFC 108 Bout With Vitor Belfort Will he or won't he? That's the question that's been asked over the past week as to whether UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will be physically ready to face Vitor Belfort at UFC 108 on January 2nd, 2010.

Silva recently underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair chronic damage to his elbow, and there were conflicting reports as to whether Silva would be ready to compete by that date. However, Silva’s coach, Josuel Distak, confirmed that the fighter will be ready to battle Belfort at the event.

“Anderson pulled out some pieces of bones damaged because of the use of his elbows along the years," Distak told Terra Magazine. "It’s a simple procedure and he will start training in a month. The surgery took place two and a half weeks ago so he will face Vitor Belfort.

“Everyone wants this fight, I want this fight. I just think it would be at 88kg whereas Vitor just returned to the event. Be calm people, Spider will throw his web again.”

Recovery time is expected to be quick and Distak is confident that Silva will be in top condition for the bout against Belfort.

UFC 108 takes place on January 2, 2010 from the the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stay tuned to FightLine.com for further updates on the event.
