Mirko Cro Cop Admits Contemplating Suicide After dos Santos Loss
Mirko Cro Cop Admits Contemplating Suicide After dos Santos Loss After his one-sided loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 103, Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic said he had thoughts of taking his life.

“I was very, very disturbed after the loss to Dos Santos," he said in an interview with Croatian site Nokaut last week. "I was in such a state that I wished to hang myself in my hotel room so I would be gone."

The 35-year old stated that he is seeking medical help to help him come to grips with his waning fighting career, which includes three losses out of his last seven fights, the most recent loss at the hands of dos Santos.

"I already know some things that I did wrong both in the fight and in the preparation for the fight, but there are many questions that remain to be answered," he explained. "I am seriously thinking about hiring a psychiatrist to help me out. I have already made some calls about it.“

Cro Cop’s training partner, Fabricio Werdum, hopes the Croatian born fighter retires soon so he can leave his legacy in tact.

“I think it would be a good idea if he stops,” Werdum recently told Tatame. “He already did what he had to do, is famous for his left kick, he’s financially stabilized, he’s an idol in his country, so I don’t think he needs fighting anymore.”

However, Cro Cop is determined to stay in the UFC and fight the last two fights of his contract.

“If someone offered me millions of dollars to quit my career right now I would not accept it. [Fighting] is my life and I don’t know any other way to live,” he stated.

"I will make some changes in my training, because I wish to fight twice more in the UFC. I am a fighter, and I will find the motivation and strength I need."
