Mirko Cro Cop Eager To Fight Twice Before 2010
Mirko Cro Cop Eager To Fight Twice Before 2010 With a September 19th bout against Junior dos Santos at UFC 103 already booked, Croatian star Mirko Cro Cop wants to fight once more in December if he’s healthy. “It depends on injuries if everything goes well I expect to fight before the new year or at least in January so we’ll see,” Cro Cop said about remaining active.

Even though Cro Cop owns a less than spectacular 2-2 record inside the UFC’s Octagon, a win over dos Santos and another in December could put him into the heavyweight title picture.

“If I take both of those fights, I believe the third will be the title shot,” Cro Cop said during a recent UFC 103 conference call.

Once considered one of the most feared fighters in all of MMA, Cro Cop began to lose his luster following an embarrassing knockout loss to Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 70.

That was in the past and according to Cro Cop, he feels better than ever.

“I feel much, much, much, much more comfortable now in the cage. I train all of the time in the cage,” Cro Cop proclaimed. “I think I’m just like I used to be in my old days.”

UFC 103 takes place on September 19th, and is headlined by Rich Franklin facing former UFC light heavyweight champ Vitor Belfort in a 195-pound catchweight bout. In addition, for the first time on a U.S. pay-per-view event, the UFC and Spike TV will broadcast a 60-minute lead-in show where they will televise two live preliminary bouts starting at 9PM ET/6PM PT to combat the Mayweather fight.
