Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers Possible For October 10th
Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers Possible For October 10th ESPN.com’s Franklin McNeil is reporting that Strikeforce may move their highly anticipated heavyweight bout between undefeated Brett Rogers and Fedor Emelianenko to October 10th as opposed to the originally rumored late-November date. “I am hearing that Newark, New Jersey, October 10th at the Prudential Center could be the site of Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers,” McNeil said on MMA Live.

A proposed move to October would definitely help Strikeforce as Zuffa, LLC is looking to hold two UFC cards and one WEC event in the month of November.

No matter when Strikeforce decides to schedule Fedor’s first fight in a cage, the UFC will likely counter with a free-TV event to take away possible viewers from the California-based promotion.

The UFC currently only has one event scheduled in the month of October, which will also mark the promotion’s first event in Los Angeles in nearly two years. Lyoto Machida will defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 104 inside STAPLES Center.

Although nothing has been confirmed by either Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, Fedor or Rogers, McNeil states that his report comes from a very reliable source.
