Lightweights Kenny Florian and Clay Guida appear to be on a collision course for UFC 106 in November. Florian told MMA FanHouse that he was “optimistic” the fight would be signed as he is anxious to get back into the Octagon following his submission loss to lightweight champion BJ Penn at UFC 101.
Guida is also coming off a loss, as he came up short against Diego Sanchez, who has now become the number one contender and likely will face Penn at UFC 105 in England.
Florian had nothing but good things to say about his potential opponent, specifically the heart that the wild-haired Guida showed against Sanchez when it was clear he was in trouble at several points during their June bout.
