Randy Couture To Appear In Upcoming EA Sports MMA Game
Randy Couture To Appear In Upcoming EA Sports MMA Game Former UFC champion Randy Couture has officially been announced as a character for the upcoming EA Sports MMA video game.

“I have been a part of MMA for over 10 years and I am excited about the global visibility that a game like EA SPORTS MMA will bring to the sport,” Couture said about appearing in the game.

UFC President Dana White has stated that he would outright blackball any fighter from joining the UFC if they appear on any EA Sports MMA video game. Couture is allowed to appear in the game because he made the deal with EA Sports before returning to the UFC last year.

EA Sports is one of the gaming industries biggest companies with games like Madden, NBA Live and Fight Night, however this will be their first dabble into the world of MMA.

After reportedly spurning a possible deal to make a game with the UFC, EA Sports has decided to venture out on its own to create the best mixed martial arts video game the planet has ever seen.

WAMMA heavyweight champ Fedor Emelianenko has already been announced as another headliner for the upcoming game as well as Emelianenko’s training partner and newly crowned Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi.

In case you didn’t notice, EA Sports sponsored three fighters during “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” this past Saturday night, including having the EA MMA logo on the mat.

EA Sports’ ‘MMA’ will be produced for both the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms.
