- MMAMania.com is reporting that Ricardo Almeida (11-3) will make his welterweight debut at UFC 106, facing Jon Fitch (19-3). Almeida is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Kendall Grove at UFC 101, while Fitch is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Paulo Thiago at UFC 100. UFC 106 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Nov. 21.

- Jake Ellenberger (21-4) will face a tough test in his octagon debut. MMAJunkie.com is reporting that the former IFL veteran will replace the injured Chris Lytle to face Carlos Condit (22-5) at UFC Fight Night 19. Condit, the WEC's last welterweight champion, is coming off of a split decision loss to Martin Kampmann in his UFC debut this past April at UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmann.
