Silva could face another light heavyweight fighter but the fighters that make sense for him to fight in the division already have commitments. Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson are scheduled to fight in December. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will fight Lyoto Machida at UFC 104 in Los Angeles in October. Tito Ortiz is tentatively scheduled to fight Mark Coleman later this year. It wouldn't make sense for Silva to fight another 205 pound fighter outside of those already mentioned after he demolished a highly-ranked Forrest Griffin.
It seems as though Dan Henderson is the most likely opponent for Anderson Silva for the near future. Henderson is the only fighter to face Silva during his title reign with a wrestling background and while Silva has a solid ground skills, it appears that the only way he can be defeated is on the mat. Henderson has already proven that he can win at least one round against Silva with his world-class wrestling skills. Amazingly, no other fighter that has fought Silva in his ten UFC fights can make that claim.
