"Guaranteed," Diego Sanchez stated last month about getting the winner of the Penn - Florian bout. "It’s guaranteed. After August 2nd, it’s on. I get the winner."

UFC President Dana White confirmed the news during the UFC 101 post-fight press conference, stating, "Diego Sanchez is next in line for a title shot against BJ Penn."

Sanchez has an impressive record, holding victories over the likes of Clay Guida, Nick Diaz, and Joe Stevenson. "The Nightmare" is also the winner of The Ultimate Fighter: Season 1. Since beating Guida at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale in June, Sanchez has been asking for a title shot. Dana White says Sanchez will receive that opportunity later this year, or perhaps in early 2010.
