"Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg" Is Not A Beauty Contest
"Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg" Is Not A Beauty Contest Although Strikeforce has named their August 15th event “Carano vs. Cyborg,” some MMA Forums have dubbed the highly anticipated female scrap as “Beauty and the Beast.” Although it’s tough to deny Gina Carano’s exceptional facial features, I wouldn’t dare call Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos the “B” word.

“This doesn’t bother [me], the fact that all the media, almost all the media, thinks that it’s like Beauty and the Beast,” Santos stated at the “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” press conference in New York City last month. “For [me] it doesn’t matter because the important time is inside the (cage).”

In this day and age, it baffles the mind that something this absurd would even come up in a sporting event, however it appears that Carano’s stunning good looks are in fact that imposing, although she would be the last person to admit it.

“When it comes down to it, it’s a fight,” Carano stated. “You don’t leave the fight thinking, ‘Oh, how beautiful that person was.’ Usually you think, ‘Oh my gosh, that person has skills.’ Or, ‘That person got jacked.’ So thank you for your compliments, but that’s definitely not going to help anybody out in the cage.”

One thing’s for sure. Cyborg will do her very best to make sure that Carano doesn’t leave the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California looking the same way she did coming in.
