Nick Diaz Out, Jesse Taylor In This Saturday At Strikeforce
Nick Diaz Out, Jesse Taylor In This Saturday At Strikeforce The California State Athletic Commission has just confirmed that “The Ultimate Fighter 7" finalist/castoff Jesse Taylor will be stepping in for Nick Diaz to face Jay Hieron at this Saturday’s “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” event inside the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.

Taylor is best known for making it to the finals of The Ultimate Fighter Season 7, only to become the only fighter to ever be removed from the finals. Taylor had went on a drunken binge in Las Vegas after the show was filmed, and security footage showed Taylor kicking in the side windows of a rented limousine. He had also frightened female patrons and confronted hotel security by acting aggressively and screaming that he was a UFC fighter. UFC President Dana White was shown the security footage, and White promptly removed Taylor from the finals.

Bill Douglas, assistant executive officer of the CSAC, confirmed the news to MMAWeekly.com Monday afternoon.

During today’s media call, CEO Scott Coker confirmed that Diaz had missed his mandatory pre-fight drug test with the Commission this past Friday. Diaz’s coach, Cesar Gracie, claims that it was a logistics problem as the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu wizard was high up in the mountains (some pun intended) training for his impending title fight.

Coker has just confirmed with MMAJunkie.com that this bout will be a non-title affair. It was an expected move considering none of the original two contestants are in the bout.
