Strikeforce announced on Friday afternoon that a middleweights battle between Tim Kennedy and Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos will headline their Strikeforce Challengers Series event on September 25th inside the SpiritBank Event Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Kennedy is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, including his submission (ahem, due to strikes) win over Nick Thompson in his debut for the San Jose-based company at "Strikeforce: Villasenor vs. Cyborg" this past June.
Speaking of Cyborg, he's coming off a disappointing showing against Villasenor that night, one in which he states he wasn't completely healthy and ready for after sitting the sidelines for nearly nine months.
Tickets for the event, priced from $25, go on sale Monday, August 10 at 10 a.m. CT and will be available for purchase at the SpiritBank Event Center box office as well as Strikeforce.com and Ticketmaster.com
