Josh Barnett Returns To Pro Wrestling After Affliction Debacle
Josh Barnett Returns To Pro Wrestling After Affliction DebacleA week after Josh Barnett tested positive for an anabolic steroid during a pre-test screening which ended up causing the cancellation of Affliction: Trilogy and the subsequent folding of the promotion, MMA Fanhouse is reporting that "The Baby-Faced Assassin" will wrestle on August 9th for the Inoki Genome Federation in Japan.

While Barnett hasn't spoken publicly about the pro wrestling match, Barnett's manager, Shannon Hooper, confirmed it with FanHouse today. Barnett's last public comments came last week after the positive test became public.

"It was not a random test," Barnett stated about the pre-test screen last week. "I had no reason to believe there would be any issues and went in to submit my sample at the earliest possible opportunity on June 25. I never once thought there would be a problem.

"My representatives and I are working to gather as much info as possible and handle this situation as best we can," he continued. "I am embarrassed and want for nothing more than to resolve this issue and receive a license from the State of California as I have done many times already and for other states as well."

Josh Barnett had told us last month that he hoped that his fight with Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction: Trilogy would help prove that "pro wrestlers are bad asses". You can watch that interview below:
