 As their bout at UFC 101 draws near, the rivalry between UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn and opponent Kenny Florian is heating up. Penn is angry at Florian because he says Florian sent him a text message calling UFC Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre a "big ‘roider’ and a greaser and stuff". Florian, a former contestant on the initial season of The Ultimate Fighter, denies he sent the text.
"Not only is he lying to me that he sent the email, but he’s also lying to Georges," Penn said in an interview in this month’s Fighters Only Magazine. He went on to say that he has lost respect for Ken-Flo.
All this comes before their highly anticipated fight, scheduled to take place at UFC 101: Declaration on August 8th in Philadpelphia, PA. The event will also feature a light-heavyweight clash between Anderson Silva and Forrest Griffin.
