- MMAJunkie.com is reporting that former EliteXC fighter Muhsin Corbbrey (8-3) has signed a multi-fight deal with the WEC. The lightweight last fought Nick Diaz at EliteXC: Return of the King on June 14, 2008, losing via TKO in the third round. No date or opponent has yet been set for Corbbrey.
- UFC.com is reporting that former WEC light heavyweight champions Steve Cantwell (7-2) and Brian Stann (6-2) will have their rubber match at UFC Fight Night 19. Stann had defeated Cantwell at WEC 26 in March of 2007 via TKO in the first round. Cantwell evened the score at WEC 35 last August, defeating Stann via TKO in the second round.
UFC Fight Night 19 is headlined by Nate Diaz vs Melvin Guillard and Gray Maynard vs Roger Huerta, and takes place on Wednesday, September 16th at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
- Seth Petruzelli (10-4) returns to fighting after making headlines defeating Kimbo Slice in 14 seconds last October. Petruzelli will face Chris Baten (5-4) at Art of Fighting 4 on August 22nd at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida. The event will air on pay-per-view.
