 According to the UFC’s Japanese website, a middleweight bout between Yushin Okami and former WEC top contender Chael Sonnen is set for UFC 104 in Los Angeles, California.
At 23-4, there is no denying Okami’s talents, as he has been one of the division’s top contenders for quite some time. Despite being the last person to defeat Anderson Silva (albeit via disqualification at Rumble on the Rock 8 on January 20, 2006), he has yet to thrill the UFC brass enough to warrant a title shot at Silva. He was last seen dominating Dean Lister last December at UFC 92.
UFC 104 will take place inside the Staples Center on October 24th. The night’s main event will feature UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida’s first-ever title defense against the rejuvenated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
