Tonight's M-1 Challenge To Feature Pro MMA Debut Of Decorated French Wrestler
A best-of-five series between Team France and Team Spain will be featured on tonight's M-1 Challenge telecast at 8 p.m. ET on HDNet.

Direct from Japan, fight fans will get an up close look at a talented Team France that features prospects such as lightweight Maktar Gueye, middleweight Christophe Dafreville, and light heavyweight Christian "Tonton" M'pumbu.

Gueye, who claimed "Knockout of the Night" honors during an M-1 Challenge event in Kansas City earlier this month, will look to record yet another memorable KO when he faces Team Spain's Jose Luis Zapater.

Meanwhile, Dafreville, the current leader in M-1Global.com's "M-1 Challenge Submission Specialist of the Year" standings, will put his silky smooth jiu-jitsu skills on display against Rayco Silva.

Additionally, fight fans will also get to take a close look at M'pumbu, perhaps the best pure athlete in the entire M-1 Challenge. With a record of 12-2-1, the Paris native has made a strong effort this season to surpass Team Imperial's Mikhail Zayats at the best 205 pound fighter competing in the M-1 Challenge.

With notable wins against UFC heavyweight Stefan Struve and Team Finland light heavyweight Marcus Vanttinen already on his resume, M'pumbu will look to add Spain's Enoc Solves to his hit list.

Tonight's telecast on HDNet will also feature the pro MMA debut of one of the most decorated amateur wrestlers in French history, Soufian Elgarne. Elgarne will test himself right out of the gate as he takes on Spain's pound-for-pound best in Rogent Lloret.
