Although Arlovski holds a 15-7 professional mark, he has fallen on some tough times of late. Prior to his current two-loss skid, he had rolled off five consecutive victories with all of them coming via the knockout variety.

It was obvious why Atencio chose not to re-up with Arlovski, as he has been one of the organization’s highest earners since its inception. Arlovski’s bill for beating Ben Rothwell at Affliction: Banned last July was $750,000, with $250,000 of that coming via a win bonus.
