Andrei Arlovski Among Four Fighters Suspended
Andrei Arlovski Among Four Fighters SuspendedWhat does getting slapped silly earn you? If you’re Andrei Arlovski and Rafael Calvacante, two of the lucky four to receive medical suspensions stemming from their beatdowns at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Sheilds, you get a 60-day vacation on the sidelines.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed with the Missouri Office of Athletics that Arlovski and Calvacante will be forced to ride the pine for two months due to precautionary reasons.

Precautionary? Did they not see the fights? They better check Arlovski’s dome for any leaks or cracks after Brett Rogers laid the lumber to it. It took the former tire repair guy all of 22 seconds to further expose the former UFC heavyweight champ’s glass chin.

The up-and-coming Calvacante was dropped in the second round of his fight against Mike Pyle. There was a lot of hype surrounding this youngster, even some grumblings of him fighting Strikeforce champ Renato “Babalu” Sobral for his strap in the not-so-distant future. However, that appears to be light-years away now.

Lucas Lopes and James Wade, who both fought on the non-televised portion of the Showtime event, were the other pair of fighters suspended.
