 Strikeforce confirmed today that Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos (7-1) will finally face Gina Carano (7-0) at the upcoming StrikeForce event on August 15th. The fight has been in the making for almost a year now, and almost looked like it wasn't going to happen.
Santos is coming off a victory over Hitomi Akano in April, in a fight where she came in seven pounds overweight. Meanwhile, Carano is coming off of an impressive victory over Kelly Kobald last October.
Strikeforce also announced that Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomson will face Gilbert Melendez on the August 15th event.
